Conversations with Les Graff
Artist, advocate, educator and art’s administrator, Les Graff joins us for Gallery Walk Weekend.
Featuring seven new works inspired by his favoured Battle River location; and in his distinctive abstract, expressionist style, Les will talk about his art and his 60 year career in the arts.
Born in Camrose in 1936, Les started at the Alberta College of Art & Design in 1955 at the age of 19.  Then he pursued a Masters of Fine Arts from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, graduating in 1960.

After graduation, Les embarked on a duo career, working for Alberta Culture, Visual Arts from 1966-1991 and maintaining a studio practice for the last 59 years.  As Director of Visual Arts, Les was heavily involved in establishing the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, which is a legacy that cemented the importance of art in Alberta and will continue to do so for generations to come.

Come join us to hear Les share his stories and give us insights into his work and into the history of the Arts in Alberta – Friday evening from 7-8:30 pm, Saturday 1-4 pm and Sunday from 1 – 2 pm.

Libations served Friday evening and lighter refreshment will be available Saturday and Sunday.
