Canadian artist, Kritsana Naowakhun was born in Bangkok Thailand.   Influenced by his grandfather who painted in Buddhist temples in mainland China, Kritsana attended Thailand’s renowned Fine Art University, Silpakorn University.

He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003.  After graduation Kritisana practiced art and earned a living in Bangkok’s burgeoning fashion industry.  He met his Canadian wife in Bangkok and immigrated to Canada in 2011.  The young couple lived in Ontario for a time, and now live in Fort McMurray, Alberta where Kritsana has become a well-known art instructor in the community.

He exhibits with the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery and Keyano Art Gallery, and he teaches art at the Suncor Centre for the Performing Arts and at MacDonald Island Park.  An emerging artist of note, he was invited to participate in the Alberta Art Gallery (AGA), travelling exhibition “Beyond the Patch” in 2017.

“This series reflects an aesthetic that combines my Canadian experience, my Asian heritage, and the ethos of my Buddhist beliefs.” K. Naowakhun
