Kritsana Naowakhun was born and raised in Bangkok Thailand. Through the influence of his grandfather, who was an artist painting in Buddist temples in mainland China, Kritsana wanted to be an artist from early childhood. He attended Thailand’s renowned Fine Art University, Silpakorn University and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003. He participated in many exhibitions in Thailand including the 52nd National Exhibition for his sculpture thesis project.
Kritsana came to Canada in 2011 Kritsana, after marrying a Canadian. The young couple lived in Ontario for a time, and now live in Ft. McMurray where Kritsana has become a well-known fixture of the arts community.
He exhibits with the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery and Keyano Art Gallery, and he teaches art at the Suncor Centre for the Performing Arts and at MacDonald Island Park. An emerging artist of note, he was invited to participate in the Alberta Art Gallery (AGA), travelling exhibition “Beyond the Patch” in 2017.
