Born in 1945 on the Isle of Wight, England, Peter Deacon (RCA) moved to Canada in 1975 to became a Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Calgary.
Peter Deacon’s art is conceptual. He focuses on themes like prime numbers, the prime meridian, and the continental divide. Deacon ponders the way humans measure space, time, and define the world geographically.
Peter Deacon has exhibited across Canada over the last 30 years, and his work is part of several corporate and public collections. The recipient of many awards and honours for his art, Peter Deacon was inducted into the Royal Canadian Academy of Artists in 1980.
